Description

An extra spicy Indian blend perfect for marinating or flavoring a stir fry or curry. This Homemade Fiery Tikka Masala Seasoning brings the heat!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Black Peppercorns
  • 12 Dried Chili Peppers
  • 12 Cardamom Pods
  • 7 Whole Cloves
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Turmeric.
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder

Instructions

  1. Place the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns, dried chili, cardamom pods, cloves and cinnamon stick into a fry frying pan. Over medium low heat, toast the spices until very fragrant. Approx. 7 minutes. 
  2. Allow the spices to cool slightly, then add them to a food processor or blender. Blend until very fine. Approx 3 minutes. 
  3. Once the whole spices have been blended, transfer the powder to a bowl and stir in the smoked paprika, turmeric, onion powder and garlic powder. 
  4. Use immediately for a recipe or store in an air-tight container in a cool dry place for up to 3 months.
