Description

An authentic hummus recipe that brings the heat. This spicy Lebanese hummus is a healthy dip perfect for snacking or serving at your next party!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 oz. can Chickpeas/Garbanzo Beans (Drained)
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Clove Garlic (Minced)
  • 2 Ice Cubes
  • ¼ Cup Tahini Paste
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • 12 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Dried Dill
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Place the drained beans into a large bowl and cover with water. Then sprinkle the baking soda into the water. Stir to dissolve and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Next, under slowly running water take the skin off each chickpea by softly pinching the pea between your thumb and pointer finger.
  3. Once all of the chickpeas have been deskinned, add them to a food processor along with the garlic. Blend until well combined and in fine crumbles.
  4. Next add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor along with the ice cubes.
  5. Blend on high until very smooth, approx. 4 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy!
