Description
A tangy cashew-based cheese coated in everything bagel seasoning. This Vegan Everything Sharp Cheddar is amazing on just about everything!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Cup Raw Cashews (Soaked or Boiled)
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Tapioca Flour
- 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp Miso Paste
- 3/4 Cup Water
Coagulant:
- 2 tsp Agar Agar Powder
- 3/4 Cup Water
Coating:
- 3 Tbsp Everything Bagel Spice Blend
Instructions
- Place the nuts into a sauce pan and cover with water. Boil the nuts over medium high heat for 10 minutes or they can be soaked overnight.Â
- Drain the nuts and place them into a high speed blender with the rest of the cheese ingredients.Â
- Blend until very smooth and there are no visible particles.Â
- Prepare molds for your cheese by coating a few wide mouthed jars with a thin layer of oil.Â
- In a deep frying pan add the coagulant ingredients. Over medium heat, stir the coagulant until the agar powder has dissolved.Â
- Pour the cheese mixture into the pan and stir constantly. The cheese will begin to thicken within 1-2 minutes. Stir more vigorously for the next 1-2 minutes until the cheese becomes thick and smooth.Â
- Pour the mixture into the prepared molds. Smooth the top with a wet spoon.Â
- Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 1.5 hours.
- Coat with everything bagel spice before serving.
