Description

A tangy cashew-based cheese coated in everything bagel seasoning. This Vegan Everything Sharp Cheddar is amazing on just about everything!


Ingredients

Scale

Coagulant:

  • 2 tsp Agar Agar Powder
  • 3/4 Cup Water

Coating:

  • 3 Tbsp Everything Bagel Spice Blend

Instructions

  1. Place the nuts into a sauce pan and cover with water. Boil the nuts over medium high heat for 10 minutes or they can be soaked overnight. 
  2. Drain the nuts and place them into a high speed blender with the rest of the cheese ingredients. 
  3. Blend until very smooth and there are no visible particles. 
  4. Prepare molds for your cheese by coating a few wide mouthed jars with a thin layer of oil. 
  5. In a deep frying pan add the coagulant ingredients. Over medium heat, stir the coagulant until the agar powder has dissolved. 
  6. Pour the cheese mixture into the pan and stir constantly. The cheese will begin to thicken within 1-2 minutes. Stir more vigorously for the next 1-2 minutes until the cheese becomes thick and smooth. 
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared molds. Smooth the top with a wet spoon. 
  8. Cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 1.5 hours.
  9. Coat with everything bagel spice before serving.
