White Bean Hummus

Description

A creamy and protein rich hummus that is made with cannellini beans rather than chickpeas. This White Bean Hummus is super easy to make and tastes incredible with chopped veggies, pita bread, or just about anything!


Ingredients

Scale

1 15oz can of Cannellini Beans, Drained and Rinsed (also reserve bean liquid)

1 Clove Garlic

2 Tbsp Tahini

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

1 tsp Dried Thyme

1 tsp Red Pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

Juice of 1 Lemon

½ tsp ground black pepper

¼ tsp salt


Instructions

 

  1. Prepare all ingredients including reserving the bean liquid from the drained cannellini bean can.
  2. Put the beans, garlic, tahini, oil, lemon Juice and dry seasonings into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If the hummus looks dry add a little of the reserved bean liquid, 1 Tbsp at a time, and continue blending until the desired consistency is obtained. If you forget to reserve bean liquid, tap water or extra olive oil can also be used.
  3. Remove the puréed hummus and serve as a Dip, Spread or Condiment with your favorite crackers, veggies, or bread.
  4. Leftover hummus can be refrigerated for up to one week.
