We eat a lot of hummus at our house.  We love it.  It’s quick to make, healthy, and so versatile. We always have at least one homemade variety sitting our fridge.

Here are the basic  ingredients that you will need for hummus:

  • Chickpeas
  • Tahini
  • Lemon
  • Garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper

A New Take on Hummus

Typically, hummus is made with chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans.  We like to mix it up from time to time and make hummus from other beans as well.  This one is made from cannellini beans.

These white beans pair perfectly with the lemon and garlic.  Its creamy off-white texture is then accented by the dried thyme and red pepper flake.

A Plant-based Staple

We are always finding new ways to use hummus and I’m sure you won’t have any trouble coming up with new and creative uses for this versatile dip yourself. You can enjoy this incredible dip with just about everything!
