The handle is made of a soft rubber which makes gripping it easy with wet hands. The blades of the zester and twist holes are sharp but knock on wood I have yet to do myself any damage. The metal is very durable as we have had this for quite some time now and it is still going strong after the crazy jungle that our utensil drawer is. My only worry is that the plastic frame around the blade seems to crack. It has not yet affected its function but it is something to think about.
After having a zester at your disposal you find the need for them more and more. On a recent holiday trip back to Montana, we make a lemony ricotta cheese pizza and discovered how really nice it is to have a zester. Trying to use a box grater to zest a lemon makes for a pretty scary sight.
