Spicy Grapefruit Shandy

Summer is the perfect time for a cool drink and often more than one.  Therefore, I would like to introduce you to a refreshing, light shandy that will have you coming back for more and won’t have you regretting it the next day– a delicious Spicy Grapefruit Shandy.

This grapefruit and jalapeño shandy has amazing citrus notes as well as a surprising spicy kick at the end. The bright beer fizz helps awaken your senses and then the bright grapefruit lingers on your tongue with a refreshing zing. This drink is truly summer at its finest.

Spicy Grapefruit Shandy

Serves: 2-3
Ingredients
  • Light Beer (We used Gluten Free Blonde Ale)
  • 2 Pink Grapefruits (Juiced)
  • 2 Fresh Lemons (Juiced)
  • 2 Jalapenos (Stemmed, Deseeded Sliced into Chunks)
  • ¼ Cup Light Agave Nectar
Instructions
  1. Juice all citrus and prepare the jalapenos.
  2. In a drink shaker, Combine the citrus juice, agave nectar and jalapeno chunks.
  3. Muddle vigorously for about 1 minute. Strain unto a pourable container.
  4. Place 2-3 ice cubes into a pint glass, Followed by ¼ - ½ cups of the citrus mixture.
  5. Fill the rest of the glass carefully with your choice of beer.
  6. Enjoy!
