A Healthy Homemade Dessert Hummus

Dessert hummus is all the rage in the stores nowadays. There is literally a new brand of dessert hummus out every week. With this Almond Dessert Hummus recipe, like all hummus recipes, it’s super easy to make at home!

There is no need to drop all kinds of money when you can make it in your own kitchen.  Plus, it’s delicious and a perfect guilt-free dessert!

 

A New Kind of Hummus

People seem mystified by this sweet hummus, but it is just the cousin of the classic. It has the basic same ingredients, however, it is just flavored differently.

The addition of almond butter and the natural sweeteners of maple syrup and medjool dates, make this hummus a perfect treat when you are craving something sweet but still healthy. Additionally, the fact that it has oodles of protein, along with no processed sugar, means you can dig in– and be sure to go for seconds! Happy dipping.

Description

Sweet and creamy with no processed sugars, this almond hummus is a quick and healthy dessert option. Serve it with fresh fruit for a guilt free snack and dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 15oz. Can Chickpeas (Drained and Rinsed)
  • 3 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 Tbsp Almond Butter
  • 3 Dates (Pitted and Chopped)
  • 2 tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Tbsp Almond Milk

Instructions

  1. Drain and Rinse the chickpeas and chop the dates (this helps to avoid large chunks in the finished hummus).
  2. Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  3. Chill and garnish with slivered almonds, if desired.
  4. Serve with fresh cut fruit, cookies, or even chocolate. Anything goes! Enjoy!
  5. Leftover hummus can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
