Some days it’s not so great to be an Adult. Work, bills, laundry- I could go on! But you know what is great about being an adult– being able to splurge and make this Vegan Adult Hot Chocolate when it’s oh so cold out.
There was once a time back in college where I LOVED hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps… I went to school in the Fargo/Moorhead area after all! But I used to think the only way to make hot chocolate was with those packs full of who knows what- NOT ANYMORE! This Vegan Adult Hot Chocolate is made from real ingredients and it comes together in only 5 minutes! What’s better than that?!
But not only does it come together in no time at all, you also probably have most of the ingredients on hand. It only takes 6 ingredients! This is what you will need-
– Nut milk (We have been loving hazelnut milk for these hot chocolates! But any will work. Or even water.)
– Cocoa powder or cacao powder
– Sweetener (maple syrup, agave, or sugar)
– Dark chocolate (chips or bar will work)
– Peppermint schnapps
– Vegan whipped cream (optional)
So, when you have a chill that won’t seem to go away this winter, try making this Vegan Adult Hot Chocolate. It tastes amazing and is sure to warm you up, EVEN if you live in Fargo, ND! Happy Adulting!
- 1 ½ Tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 2 Tbsp Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1 Cup Nut Milk (We used Hazelnut Milk)
- 1 Tbsp Sweetener (We used maple syrup)
- 1 oz Peppermint Schnapps
- 1 Piece of Dark Chocolate for Shaving or use extra chips (Garnish)
- Vegan Whipped Cream (Optional Garnish)
- In a sauce pan over medium heat, bring the nut milk to a simmer.
- Next, add in the cocoa powder, sweetener and chocolate chips.
- Stir until chocolate chips have melted and everything is well incorporated and hot
- Pour into a large mug.
- Add the Schnapps and vegan whipped cream.
- Grate the chocolate over the drink.
- Enjoy!
