Gochujang is a fermented red chili sauce that originates in Korea. Its flavor combines sweet, savory, and spicy- all at once! Don’t worry about the spice too much though. It will not knock your socks off. It is more of a subtle heat that still allows you to appreciate the other flavors in the dish.

The gochujang sauce lends itself perfectly to these blistered string beans but you can also put it on any roasted vegetable, grain bowls or use it to deepen the flavor of soups and stews.
