Gochujang is a fermented red chili sauce that originates in Korea. Its flavor combines sweet, savory, and spicy- all at once! Don’t worry about the spice too much though. It will not knock your socks off. It is more of a subtle heat that still allows you to appreciate the other flavors in the dish.

The gochujang sauce lends itself perfectly to these blistered string beans but you can also put it on any roasted vegetable, grain bowls or use it to deepen the flavor of soups and stews. If you can find this wonderful sauce we highly recommend it. You will be making easy flavor packed meals in no time or just make these Blistered Gochujang String Beans again and again!

Where to find Gochujang sauce:

  • The international section or in the hot sauce/condiment aisle of a standard grocery store
