Tasty comfort food made at HOME!

Fried wontons are a delicacy that most assume can’t be enjoyed in one’s own house. But they can!

These scrumptious curried wontons can be baked or fried. But we are partial to cooking them in an Air Fryer. They come out amazing crispy with only a smidge of oil needed. Healthy fried food? Absolutely! Sign us up!!

Big Curry Flavor

It might seem hard to believe, but with only a teaspoon of curry powder you can have BIG flavor. Robust and spicy in every bite.

Nutritious sweet potato and carrot combine to make one creamy filling and garlic and onion add a slight sharpness. I could eat this filling by the spoonful! But save some for the wontons!

Folding Fun

There are many ways to fold a wonton wrapper but we like to go for easy yet creative. Just be sure to seal the wrapper edges with a tiny bit of water so the seams stay together and the filling stays inside.

But don’t think this is the only way to fold. A simple triangle also works well or get complicated with a multiple fold version. It’s always fun to experiment, especially if you can find a family member or friend to help!

Tips and Tricks

  1. Use 1 heaping teaspoon of filling for each wonton. Don’t overfill because this can make it much harder to fold and increase the chance of your wontons splitting open.
  2. Experiment with different dipping sauces. We love this Spicy Mint Chutney combo- so good!!! But they are also great with sriracha or any other hot sauce.
  3. Don’t worry if you can’t finish them all! They reheat remarkably well. Simply reheat them in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes or put them back in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes. Just watch them carefully so they don’t burn if frying.

These Air Fryer Curried Wontons are the cats meow. Yep, I said that. Haha. We love cats and we LOVE these crispy plant-based wontons. Who says vegan food is boring? Definitely not THESE wontons!!! Enjoy!
