This Blood Orange Sunrise Mimosa brings all of the glorious colors of daylight to a refreshing champagne cocktail.  Plus ANYONE can make it! Honestly!

Needed Ingredients for a Blood Orange Sunrise Mimosa

Here is precisely what you will need to make this fun drink.

  1. Champagne or Sparkling Wine (We prefer Brut because the juice is rather sweet.)
  2. 1 or 2 Blood Oranges
  3. Orange Juice
  4. Agave Syrup
  5. Oh, and a steady hand!

Bringing Out Your Inner Mixologist!

After you have tracked down the needed ingredients, it’s time to MIX! The key is to layer each of the ingredients on top of one another using a spoon to help with a slow and steady pour.

First, add your blood orange and agave mixture to the bottom of your glass.  The agave is optional but it does help to keep your layers separated.

Next, slowly pour your orange juice into the glass, breaking the pour with the back of a spoon.  Gradually elevate the spoon as the drink level rises. It’s helpful to touch the spoon to the side of your glass.

Finally, add your champagne to the glass using the same approach.  Slow and steady wins the race!

Mistakes are STILL Beautiful

Here’s the thing about this Blood Orange Sunrise Mimosa- the mistakes are sometimes EVEN BETTTER than perfection! That’s right. There is really no way to mess up this drink.  The colors are exquisite even if they aren’t perfectly separated.

Want an example? Just look at our photos! Same exact drink, very different looks but BOTH are magnificent in their own right. But don’t forget the taste is what really matters and this drink delivers a sweet and effervescent cocktail that will tickle the senses.
