Do you love store bought jam or jelly? If so, you are going to LOVE this Pomegranate & Gooseberry Chia Jam! It comes together with only 5 ingredients and it tastes sweet and slightly tart thanks to the gooseberries and pomegranate arils, perfect for jam. Yum!
Jam always reminds me of toast at my grandparents’ house. There is just nothing better than crunchy brown bread and sweet fruit jam. But as I have gotten older, I have realized one needs to be more careful of the added sugar that one consumes- and jam is no exception! Then, we discovered we can make our own incredibly easy jam at home- with chia!
Chia seeds are a staple ingredient in our home. They are packed with healthy protein and can be added to almost anything for an extra boost of energy. Plus, they take on a gelatin like texture making them ideal for jam and many other treats. Check out a few of the other recipes we use them in!
They are just amazing and versatile- and therefore, always in our house. If you are worried about the cost, buy in bulk! I have found great deals at Costco and as an add-on item on Amazon for large bags of chia seeds. But I would suggest, try them first of course, before stocking up just to make sure you love them as much as we do!
Also, ifyou are unfamiliar with gooseberries, this Pomegranate & Gooseberry Chia Jam is a great way to try them. You won’t need to buy very many to make a decent amount of jam. Gooseberries grow inside a little husk and are either yellow or pink in color. But most importantly, they taste amazing- fresh and sweet. No need for adding lots of additional sugar when making this jam!
If you are looking to remove preservatives and added sugar from your own cupboards, begin by making this super easy and delicious Pomegranate & Gooseberry Chia Jam. We’ve already found many great uses other than toast and I’m guessing you will too! Mmmmmm… jam!
